Subject: Running DDL with the new Windows Vista released 30-January-2007 (applies to all versions of Vista).
Special Note: Alternative 'Solution' We have found that you can 'right click on DDL Icon' on the desktop and click 'Run as administrator'. or When you right click on DDL icon on desktop and select properties, select compatibility tab, then check always run as administrator then APPLY.
Vista has three areas that should be checked for 'Run as Administrator'.
1st place is under Properties-Shortcut-Advanced Tab
2nd is under Properties-Compatibility Tab
3rd is under Properties-Compatibility Tab-All Users Tab
Make sure all have a check mark in the box.
For some un-know reasons Vista will uncheck these at times, so go back and check them if you have any problem.
In order to avoid the warning message when using DDL with Windows Vista, you will need to reinstall DDL into C:\Drivers Daily Log
DO NOT USE the default settings or you will get a warning message every time you load Drivers Daily Log. This will fix the warning message.
Default location is: C:\Program Files\Drivers Daily Log
Warning after following these Steps - you will most likely need to get a new ActivationCode as Driver Daily log will revert back to Trial period. Make sure you have your DDL/CustomerID/DDLID number. Use the 'Request for Activation Form" located on the main web page on our Web site for faster service and less delays.

Vista will still pop up a dialog box for most programs that ask if you want to allow the program to run, This is a part of the new security. It let you know that a program has been started. Since most of the time you know this as you clicked on it is very annoying. There is a great utility made by TweakUAC that can be used to turn this off. You can download and install this utility from this link: http://www.tweak-uac.com
Once downloaded you should choose the 2nd option (see screen shot below).
WARNING: If you are new to computers and do not fully understand what the UAC is and what it does, WE RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT USE THIS OR CHOOSE THE 3RD OPTIONS!!
