News - 15 October 2009
Subject: Running DDL with the new Windows 7 released 15- Oct 2009 (applies to all versions of Windows 7). Special Note: Alternative 'Solution' We have found that you can 'right click on DDL Icon' on the desktop and click 'Run as administrator'. This would need to be every time you run DDL. A better way is to right click on DDL icon on desktop and select properties, select compatibility tab, then check always run as administrator then APPLY. Windows 7 has three areas that should be checked for 'Run as Administrator'. This will only need to be done once 1st place is under General click here for Image 2nd is under Properties-Compatibility Tab 3rd is under Properties-Compatibility Tab-All Users Tab Make sure all have a check mark in the box. For some un-know reasons Windows 7 will uncheck these at times, so go back and check them if you have any problem. In order to avoid the warning message when using DDL with Windows 7, you will need to reinstall DDL into C:\Drivers Daily Log Follow the steps below. DO NOT USE the default settings or you will get a warning message every time you load Drivers Daily Log. This will fix the warning message. Default location is: C:\Program Files\Drivers Daily Log (32 Bit versions) Default location is: C:\Program Files(x86)\Drivers Daily Log (64 Bit versions)
Warning after following these Steps - you will most likely need to get a new ActivationCode as Driver Daily log will revert back to Trial period. Make sure you have your DDLID number. Use the 'Request for Activation Form" located on the main web page on our Web site for faster service and less delays.
