How to update Drivers Daily Log Due to changes in Hours of Service Rules, Adding new Rules, updating Rules, or fixing bugs, and improvements to Drivers Daily Log, we require Drivers Daily log to be updated. You should update your version at least every few months, at 8 months (since the version was released). DDl will start a 30 day warning cycle that the programs needs to be updated. if not updated, the program will stop accepting new data. No data will be deleted, or lost, you just will not be able to add new data until DDL is updated. RUNNING OUT-OF-DATE software can cause you big fines, or being placed out of service. Updating is easy and free.
Step 1. Close Drivers Daily Log down. DO NOT DELETE Drivers Daily log. this will cause DDL to de-activate and you will then need to apply for a new Activation Code. Step 2. Go to Drivers Daily Log Web Site (http:\\www.driversdailylog.com) Step 3. Click on the Download button Step 4. Scroll down to the section for the software you purchased. ie.. Full or Lite. Step 5. Click on the Button to start your download, use Open or Run. Not Save. After your download is complete, a new window should appear to install the software. Again select Open or Run, not Save. Once the program has updated, DDL will restart. At this point several things could happen. 1. Everything is fine and running good, the program stays Activated. Your Done. 2. DDL go back to Trial mode and is NOT Activated (A change has occurred and DDL has generated a new InstallationID). If this happens you will need to complete an email with all your information and the new InstallationID number and email to frbjorklund@driversdailylog.com to receive a new Activation Code to unlock DDL. Please read the information under Request for Activation Code to avoid delays. We need the information contained on the purchase/registration screen. If you have one of our Print modules installed you need to update as well, but going to the Print module page and downloading and install the Print module. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
