Annual Subscription
Service is on Hold
12 Jan-2006 -- Many of you have been emailing us, about
the annual subscription service that was to begin on Jan 1, 2006.
The 'subscription' plan is 'on hold', mostly because we don't have enough time
to get the system for counting days of subscription working properly. Now that
USA has changed the rules again, and
probably going to do some more changes in 2006., Canada is 'getting into it'
with rules changes effective 01 Jan 2007. And based on the expected complexity,
will take several months to implement. We are also working on a driver
information, maintenance, permits data system within DDL. Drivers should be
ready to release within a few weeks.
In Oct, 2005 we divided DDL into two versions 'Full' US$95 with all features
enable, and 'Lite' US$50 which is 'duty status logs' only. So as you noted,
'Lite' fits the company driver better, whereas DDL 'Full' fits the owner
operator if all the extra 'stuff' is needed.. And the 'Lite' would not, and
will
not, require 'subscription' if and when we can get 'on it'.
Our policy is and has always been, Existing DDL customers are not required to
'subscribe'. The only limitation that you 'live under' is the three (3) "NEW"
activations before purchase of DDL is required again. This also applies to
'Lite' version you receive 3 "NEW" activations, per Full license copy of DDL. A
full license copy is $US70, US$95.00 OR US$50.00 The US$25 copy was license for
